I really like your melodic songs much better than your dirty ones as of late.
This was definitely a treat. Thanks for the awesome music.
I totally ripped this
for car ipod action. This is is some filthy shit, dude.
This is another step forward on the path for you. There's not really anything about this song (in reference to the full version) that I can comment on regarding improvement. It's a small departure from the meandering melodies I'm used to, but it still has that nice contrast between ethereal and guttural that I like from your songs so much. I'll be sure to verbally flog you if I hear anything out of place when I play it in the car, but as of right now, it's a 10/10. Congratulations.
Yeah, I already noticed some stuff...the bass is REALLY loud, so I think I may have to remaster this for the album version. :P But, thank you very much for your input! :D This is the type of song I've been longing to produce since I first started producing dubstep. I can thoroughly say that I'm quite happy that Bar9 could be jealous of this tune. ;)
Why'd you stop the song? WHERE'S THE REST???
Excellent intro, dude. This sounds like it has the potential for a larger scope than I've heard from you before. Compression/volume issues aside, it's very well-crafted, musically. I can't wait to hear the finished product.
I SAID GOOD DAY!
All I can say is, I cannot wait till I find the perfect compression formula. I think I'm pretty close now, still not QUITE where I want it...but definitely pretty close. I will definitely be throwing this one (or somethin like it) on my EP; I just had to let the world know about my dubcore ambitions! =D
Thanks for the review bro, definitely appreciated!
1:27 and on is adorable.
I really despise most trance music. This is not one of the songs I despise. I can still hear a little bit of Jazzman buried in there. Good luck.
Haha thanks. It was mostly just to show my friends that I could write any genre. ;)
Btw I don't really care for Trance music either. House is more my thing, if I have to go mainstream techno. And my holy grail is obviously dubstep! =D
An excellent remix.
I'll preface this by saying that I don't much care for Doctor P. I don't want to say "overrated", but...I guess I will?
Anyway, your remix was excellent. The original sounds more natural, and somewhat more "professional" I suppose, but yours has an excellent machine-like edge to it that sets it apart. Between the two songs, honestly, I like yours a LOT more.
Lol. I love Doctor P. I would do many things for him. I was in love with his songs before I knew how famous he actually was.
Missed the mark, but not by much.
I think you know I'm a fan of your music, so take this review in stride.
I like the separation in moods between the DnB and dubstep sections, but I think you should try giving these 2 things a shot to see if you like the sound better:
1) Have the tempo deceleration (I don't remember the musical term atm) happen such that the pause at 1:38 is the "true drop" that separates the sections.
2)175bpm --> 130bpm (I think I'm pretty close on those) is kind of jarring. I assume you plan on making the lead-in to the dubstep a bit more meaningful, but it might help if the DnB section was faster and instead of just getting significantly slower, it dropped down to (or at least almost down to) exactly half-time for slower but harder-hitting dubstep.
I like the instrumentation, and I really like the initial DnB flavor. It sounds like you just need to nail the transition. You're developing a really solid style for your wobble as well, and it sounds great. I look forward to hearing this song again when it's finished.
Thanks for the ideas man, I might try this approach in future projects. Unfortunately, this is just a sketch, which is pretty much all that's gonna get put up here from now on, since my main focus right now is on gathering the resources for my album (both manpower and equipment). Good stuff to keep in mind though! =D Thank you too for being a loyal fan to my music and providing me honest feedback; you're one of the few that I won't forget devopablo!
This really kicked a lot of ass.
I enjoy songs that have a simple idea and expand on it. It takes a lot of creativity to take 3 notes and a very simple bass pattern and keep piling on and shoveling off various effects and instruments and end up with a song as good as this one. Lots of people try it, not many succeed. Well done.
I was actually a little worried that it may be a bit repeitive. Plus I was tempted to add a melody, but it just seemed to take away from the heaviness of the beat. I just kept thinking "what would I like to hear if I didn't make this?" Still not 100% satisfied, but I never am. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
I liked the original song for Titanomachina, but after viewing the video muted while listening to your remake, I'd say your song is the clear winner.
I really loved your interpretation of the sitar stuff (I think it's supposed to be a sitar?), and the clear separation of the natural percussion and the machine sound effects was perfectly mastered.
Awesome job, dude.
Haha yet another heart-felt review from devo in less than 24 hours! =) You can thank my brother (who goes by R0tt3n-Appl3 here on NG) for giving me the suggestion of making those machine sound fx extra machine-y lol! Glad you liked this Black-Sun-Empire-esque tune! =)
P.S. Don't discredit Sakupen's masterpiece too much man; it's in the All-time Top Scoring as I write this response, and I'd just say it's different. This one is harsher and more energetic. I will say, though, that there's a good chance that this one fits his video a little better; I did, after all, design the song around it! ;)
Well that was unexpected.
I'm pretty sure this is the best dubstep song I've ever heard.
Congratulations on the things you've learned, because they've really paid off. The clarity and crispness in the sound is fucking amazing. I was thinking when I started this "oh cool, I get to hear a cleaned-up version of the original", and what I got to listen to was almost a new song.
Once again, you don't fail to deliver.
I'm very glad to here this devo! This means the cleanup may have been more than just a small success! =D Thanks for the review man, and I'm definitely gonna keep making tracks that don't let my listeners down!
I just grin non-stop while listening to this piece
Moments of grin overdrive:
An amazingly joyful and wondrous song. Thank you.
